One of the biggest goals of the enemy is separating GOD’s children. There is power in numbers. So the more we are divided, the less we can conquer. And what better way to divide us, than with GOD’s Word?
This type of separation leads to disbelievers and destruction amongst our own. By simply twisting the meaning or intention of the Bible, we have a large gap between one another. One separation that continues to this day is the image of Jesus Christ.
Throughout history, the color of Jesus Christ has caused many of us to turn away from GOD. Not knowing that the images we see of our Lord are only the imagination of man and not who Jesus really is. One of the beautiful aspects of the Bible is that it never gives much detail on the image of Jesus Christ. It never once says that Jesus was a white man with long curly hair or that He was a black man with an afro. And even though the Bible doesn’t describe Him in this way, you will easily find images created in this likeness.
This flaw only leads to the separation between one another. Soon after these images were created, disbelievers began to label whom Jesus was and who He represented. In reality, Jesus Christ is for all of us. And, the Bible makes a point to confirm that Jesus wasn’t the image of any specific race:
Revelation 1:13-15 (KJV)
“And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.”
There’s not a living human on earth that has skin like fine brass, with a head and hair like white wool. Why would there be? Do we actually believe GOD thinks like us to limit Jesus, the Christ and Lord to be one race? This is why we need to stop with these false images of our Lord and Saviour that separates us and stop believing we know His image. Even the Bible tells us not to worship images, yet we still attempt to create images of Jesus Christ. We have to go back to the true lessons of the Bible and realize that Jesus represents all of us. He sacrificed His life for all of us.
